Charging Macbook Pro while using wired SideCar connection

I use a wire to connect my Macbook Pro and my iPad Pro for Sidecar. When I do this, my Macbook automatically starts charging the iPad. My Macbook's battery isn't amazing to begin with, so I find myself needing to charge the laptop, but I'm not sure if I can charge the laptop while it's charging the iPad.

Can I charge my Macbook normally while it's connected to my iPad?

Hi there shanrajan,

We understand you have a question about whether you can charge your MacBook while the iPad is connected to it and charging.

You can certainly charge your Mac while it's connected to other devices.
