Hi all,
Somehow I have managed to lose the Eraser tool in the toolbar. Where it once sat there is now just another pen tool. I have no idea what I did, or how to get it back. Can anyone tell me how tools can be swapped in the toolbar or how I can reset it back to what it originally was?

Thanks for the detailed explanation. If that happened to me, I would try restoring my iPad. I admit I’m at a loss to explain the disappearance.
Same issue. Erase option gone from my tool bar. Only pencil, highlighters and pens.

I am using it for adding annotations to PDF documents in the Files app. Up until earlier today I was able to draw with the pen and pencil and erase when I made an error. The markup tool crashed earlier, and when I reopened the PDF to continue marking it up, the eraser tool had been replaced by a copy of the pen tool.

What might this mean exactly? Exactly what were you doing? What did you see? How did you recover? What iPad model? What iPadOS version? Was Files involved? Any other/additional applications?
I was annotating a PDF inside the Files app. Drawing with the pencil tool using an Apple Pencil. The app suddenly just crashed and returned me to the Home Screen. I reopened Files, went back into the PDF, and resumed Markup. It was only a few minutes later I realised I no longer had an eraser option available.
iPad is a 2018 iPad Pro using an Apple Pencil 2 running iOS 15.2
