The system is designed to help you resolve the problem without a visit, and then schedule a visit if you can’t. I’ve found that using the Get Support link at the top is this page and requesting a callback is an effective way, because the rep who calls can set up a genius bar appointment for you. But perhaps the best way is to use the Apple Support app on your phone, then choose Repairs & Physical Damage as the most direct way to make an appointment.

Several ways. You can start on the Apple support page, but one could also make an appointment through the Apple Support app, calling the Apple customer support phone number (which is the same as calling any Apple Store's listed phone number), or going in person and making an appointment.

The links provided above don't send me directly to a genius bar reservation menu. I believe that is what the question is. In the past, the support system easily provided available appointment times.

Now it (the system) requires several steps and seems to push telephone support (especially for software). This was even when I was on my selected store which shows it has resumed walk-in help. I also searched for appoint times by selecting a hardware problem and then the system provided genius bar appoint times available.

Not straight forward any more.

What is “it” that is not directing you to make a Genius Bar reservation?
