Is it possible to back-up only these pictures that fit into the remaining iCloud storage?

Dear community,

I have the issue that I have around 70 GB of photos but subscribe to the 50GB iCloud+ plan. Since I do not use iCloud for anything but back-ups, 40 GB of storage is unused. Is there any way to use the idle storage for backing up some but not all photos? I don't see a setting for this in iCloud photo stream or when choosing which apps to back-up from.

This would be very helpful to me.

No icloud backup is all or nothing.
