calendar app has suddenly changed. Can I revert to previous version?

The calendar app on my iPad Air (3rd generation, latest iOS) has suddenly changed. I hate the new one! Now I can't see all events for a month at a glance any more. If I choose month view, all I get are the dates. To see events, I have to choose week view, and then I can see only one week at a time.

has anyone else noticed this change and figured out how to revert to the previous version?
