My iPhone 5 connects to iTunes and is recognized but my iPhone screen doesn’t turn on so do I need a new screen and will that fix the issue

the screen is cracked and also it worked a while til I dropped it and I started messing with it then after that it didn't turn on
It might. Apple no longer lists a replacement screen price for the iPhone 5. It's really odd too as there seems to be listings for the 5c and 5s, but not the 5. And not even "other repair" prices for the 4 and 4s, but not for the 5.
There are some cases where third party repair might be appropriate.
You broke your phone.
Since the iPhone 5 was discontinued 8 years ago, I don't know where you would find parts for it.
