Why are there ads in News articles?

So I'm paying for a News+ subscription (via Apple One) and there are still those nasty, brightly-colored ads on white backgrounds disrupting my dark theme goodness with their tacky crap-fest tall side banner web ad realness. Yuk. Please send some relief to your paying subscribers! Is it telling that Apple News isn't even a topic area to select?

Offensive ads in the Apple news feeds Really enjoy Apple news as a paid subscriber. Although I have put up with the big sponsors ads that appear in the Apple News feed, I have grown very concerned about the ad content. I am getting constant ads to ask in I am single in “where I live” with big breasted women with lots of cleavage in the ad. How to stop Apple News subscription? I am never going to subscribe to News. The constant unreadable stories that I am suckered into clicking on amount to an advertisement to pay Apple 9.99 more a month. I am not going to do that. I don’t want even more advertising on my phone. Can I get rid of “News” entirely? I managed to finally get the FOXNews stuff to stop bullying it’s way in, but the advice to the person who previously asked this question (Restrict Stories to Today) doesn’t seem to have done what I really want, which is to stop Apple from begging for or annoying me into paying yet another 9.99 a month.
