It is 100% a scam. And they will target you again.

Did you provide them any financial, personal, or password information? Did you give them remote access to your computer? Change all your passwords and notify your financial institutions of the scam. Notify your credit card issuers.

Never ever call a number you receive in an unsolicited email.

Complete scam.

IMMEDIATELY cancel the card number (no need to cancel the account) you used to pay them $199. Change any other details such as passwords you gave them. Hope there are not too many fraudulent charges on that card already.

Please do not repeat this. You know what you have even been close to buying, and should be able to say "f off!". Ignore any other emails like this.

These criminals work you into a tizzy by getting you thinking you will be scammed, and then they take advantage of that.

This simple rule:

Never provide any financial information unless YOU initiated the call by looking up well-known number. Never "just verify your account information" either.
