The mail app on my ipod touch stopped receiving my verizon emails in December. I tried deleting and re-adding the account but it won’t work.

Thanks so much for this reply. It worked! I ignored those "update" emails because they looked like spam and when I called Verizon, they said they had no knowledge of any of this, which further convinced me they were spam. So glad you took the time to answer. My app is now working again!
