Facetime camera not working on chrome

Hi, I’m running into an issue using my MacBook Pro camera. It works on most apps but running into an issue with using it on chrome. The troubleshooting I have taken is resetting my smc, checking security and privacy camera settings, disabling hardware acceleration for chrome, reinstalling chrome after fully deleting it from my mac, testing the beta build, but the cameras still won’t work on chrome.

I am on macOS 12.1 (21C52) and chrome Version 97.0.4692.71 (Official Build) (x86_64).

I have tried troubleshooting on the chrome forums and was recommended to come here to see if anyone here had suggestions. (https://support.google.com/chrome/thread/145196526/mac-cameras-not-working-on-chrome?hl=en)

here are some pictures with the issue present

Not sure if the function is the same in Monterey as in older macOS versions but that appears to want you to do System Preferences >Security > Privacy and approve "Camera" to work with Chrome.:

then add Chrome to the list of approved apps. It should be listed in the window where Zoom is showing in my screenshot. You may need to do the same with the the Microphone and Locations services.

You also may need to ask Google. It's their browser.

As I said I already check security and privacy settings, I even included a screenshot showing as much.

I also already said I asked on the chrome forums and they suggested asking here because it may be something on the mac side.
