your iphone has never been backed up to this computer

this must be asked many time, but i could not find the solution relevant to my situation,

i am 1st time user of itunes and i may be technically not too updated on usage of itunes.

i want to create backup on my computer.

am trying this since so long now but when i click "back up now" under manually back up and restore, it shows on the top side that the data is getting backed up but later it shows "your iphone has never been backed up to this computer" under latest back up. ive been doing this by not selecting the "encrypt local backup" box.

is this happening because.

1) i only have 2gb free space left out of 16gb total. yes am using 16gb iphone 6.

2) there is only 5.75gb free space showing in itunes on the bottom side.

3) above two does not seem logical as i have enough space on my computer.

also it shows that your iphone software is up to date and even itunes version is the latest.

please help me with this.
