iPhone 5s has had 12.5.5 iOS for 5-6 months and al of a sudden now shows no service- no network. However, there’s no later version of IOS available but the phone indicates message: mobile data upload failed, cannot receive calls until it has been updated.
What can be done ?

I guess that you have tried the four items under What to do next in the second article (using the newest possible iTunes version) as well.
12.5.5 is the latest/current iOS version for an iPhone 5s (iOS 13 is not supported).
If nothing else helps, you may have to visit an Apple Store or an Apple authorised service provider.

I have gone through both of themes but none seem to help to resolve the issue. Connecting to pc did not help. It backed up the phone and no newer version of IOS is not available.
