Hey Toomanyshoos,

Thank you for using the Apple Support Communities! We understand you're unable to play music on your iPhone due to an alert about the device already being associated with an Apple ID. We're happy to help.

Your music app is connected to the Apple ID signed in on the device under Media & Purchases (or iTunes & App Store). The first thing you'll need to do, is confirm that both you and your daughter are signed in to your own separate Apple ID accounts. To do this, navigate to Settings > Your Name. Make sure you see your own Apple ID email address at the very top for iCloud, as well as under Media & Purchases on that same page. Navigate to the same place on your daughter's iPhone and make sure her own Apple ID email address separate from yours, is listed for her device in those two areas.

If for some reason the wrong Apple ID is logged into the Media & Purchases section for the iTunes & App Store, you need to sign out and sign back in using the correct Apple ID.
