How to reset password without recovery key

I have my job's iPad and no one knows the password for the Apple ID. It gives the option to input a number as recovery key but no one knows the number either. What do I do?

If someone set an AppleID recovery key on that device, there is now nothing you can do. When you use a recovery fee, it disables all of Apple’s normal AppleID password reset or account recovery tools. You need that recovery key.

Using a recovery key is more secure, but it means that you’re responsible for maintaining access to your trusted devices and your recovery key. If you lose both of these items, you could be locked out of your account permanently. With that in mind, it's important to keep your recovery key in a safe place. You might want to give a copy of your recovery key to a family member, or keep copies in more than one place. That way you always have your recovery key when you need it.

This is just one good reason why company devices should never be using personal AppleIDs. They should be under a central IT managed deployment so the company always has control of the devices.
