Someone can only use your AppleID if they know your password, and if you use AppleID 2FA, they’d need access to one of your trusted devices or backup trusted phone numbers.
So you need to change the password to a new secure one, and never share it. And if you’re not using 2 factor authentication, you should turn that on.
