What does "Not your AirPods Pro" mean?

Why am I getting this message when connecting my AirPods? They do not appear in my Find My nor do they appear in my list of iCloud devices.

Someone else asked this question recently. The post has 11,000 views. However the moderator gave a nonsensical explanation that didn’t answer the question (at all) and marked it solved.

I know how to disconnect/connect. How do we have the AirPods reappear in Find My & iCloud device lists. Presumably this would remove the “Not your AirPods Pro” warning??

No, as implied in my original question as the same question referenced in the screenshot attachments, it is abundantly clear how to disconnect and repair.

Perhaps I should rephrase the question: “Why do my AirPods Pro connect correctly the first time, but incorrectly when adding to a new iphone? I’ve attempted Apple’s solution 17 times, removing & re-pairing using Apple’s instructions, but the the phone still displays a message reading ‘These are not your AirPod Pros’ and does not list the device in Find My.”

Keep in mind that AirPods out of the box do not have the same “not yours” message because they are obviously new. One would expect that a successful re-pairing sequence might include a factory device reset in this scenario?

To clarify: I purchased the AirPods from Apple and have paired them to two phones, my 12 Pro and 12 Mini.

My AirPods 1 show appear correctly in Find My, but my AirPods Pro do not.

I have attempted the instructions many times, removing them from each of my Bluetooth-paired devices (Apple and other) and reconnecting to only my iPhone.

This appears to be a common issue as referenced in my screenshots above, but the ONLY answer that anyone offers is to re-pair the device.
