purple links going back to blue

Hello, when looking at estate sales.net, blue links would turn to purple after clicking and viewing a sale while I’m on their site—but when I revisit the site another day, the previously viewed links are blue again—how can I keep them purple?

Hi JlClLlEl,

Thanks for letting us know. We'd like to isolate this further to see if it is an issue with the app, let's try using Safari instead of Google Chrome. If the issue occurs in Safari as well as Google Chrome, go ahead and reach out to us here: Contact Apple Support.

If the issue does not occur in Safari, the contacting the app developer (Google) would be the next step.

Take care.

Hi JlClLlEl,

Thanks for your post in Apple Support Communities, we understand that you'd like a specific web site to show links that you've clicked on in the past in purple instead of blue in Safari on your iPhone. We've got some questions so we can better understand the issue.

Does this only happen on estatesales.net, or does it happen on other sites as well?

What iOS version are you running? You can check using Find the software version on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod. If your software needs to be updated, try using Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to update.

Do you have private browsing turned on? You can check using Browse privately in Safari on iPhone.

Let us know and we'll go from there.

Cheers!

It’s a brand new phone for me. I did update, but doubt that has anything to do with this issue. Something is preventing “remembering” what sites I’ve visited. Yes, using google chrome instead of safari. Didn’t clear any cookies or history. I’m guessing this has something to do with hiding the IP address of the phone. or history.

Hi JlClLlEl,

Thanks for your response. Let's try updating to iOS 15.2.1 using Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.

When you say that Google is your default browser, are you referring to your search engine, or are you using Google Chrome instead of Safari?

If you are using Safari, have you checked to see if you're using Private Browsing? you can use Browse privately in Safari on iPhone to check that.

Have you recently cleared your website data using Clear the history and cookies from Safari on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch? That would explain this behavior.

Let us know how those steps go.

Thanks!
