I just ordered a new phone and would not like to transfer over any of my old phone. I would like to start with a clean slate. I am keeping my old phone for storage and access to files/pictures etc. How do I go about this? Do I need to create a new Apple ID? Or is there a way I can set this up without all of my iCloud files downloading?

Hi, jaimiejecks, and thanks for reaching out. We see you have some concerns about setting up a new iPhone without putting any of your old data on it. We'll be glad to assist.
Essentially, you'd just set it up as new without restoring a backup. This is done by selecting the "Don't Transfer Apps & Data" option in the Apps & Data page during setup:
Set up your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
It would also be advised to not sign into your Apple ID during setup and then sign into your Apple ID later in Settings, but keeping things like iCloud syncing of specific data turned off.
