And the best way to meet that requirement is with a dumb phone. Smartphones are by design Internet devices; there is no way to disable that in any smartphone. While you may be able to contact your carrier and have them disable cellular data on the phone, there is no way to block Wi-Fi access. You can also go to Settings/Cellular and turn it off with the switch at the top, then go to Screen Time(set a passcode)/Content & Privacy Restrictions and turn Cellular Data Changes to Don’t Allow, but there is still no way to block Wi-Fi access. You can block the phone from your home Wi-Fi in your router settings, but that still won’t prevent her from using public Wi-Fi networks.

And since you mention phone and text, there are two versions of text, SMS (just short 160 character text messages) and MMS (picture messages). And MMS requires that cellular data be turned on.

I wouldn't say it's impossible, but it would take something like a corporate IT department to set up an iPhone where it can't connect to the internet. Think the demo models at Apple Stores with custom features. I've seen some pretty high-level stuff done to Apple devices, like an iPad Mini that only ran a custom hotel app, and where the only apps available were Apple Maps and Weather - not even Safari. Do you work somewhere that sets up iPhones and/or iPads for corporate use? If so, someone might be able to point in the right direction.

And if you put on restrictions, sneaky Will know how to circumvent them can be assured . Trust is the essence and limiting available finance on the phone .

On the phone go to settings type parental controls .

Here you can limit app access, screen time, all ways allow, communication limits to you, guardian etc……

You need to set up an iCloud account in family so you can manage the phone also add to find my so you know where the phone is at any time ( maybe even with the youth )

I would love to know how to do this! We have tmobile and family mode through them but it's still seems impossible to block everything besides phone and text. We have tried! :( We have called apple and have not got a resolve to this yet :(

I have to believe the responders on this thread do not have a teenage kid....because they are sneaky as **** and hard to trust AND need restrictions sometimes!
