You are welcome.
Some Other Things to Try:
I. Reinstall Malwarebytes:
Malwarebytes is fine to have installed. Most certainly keep that. It is created by longtome users of these forums. So, you can go ahead an reinstall that. Get it from the App Store. After it is installed, restart your Mac. Then update Malwarebytes and perform a scan.
II. Boot in Safe Mode:
In Safe Mode, Login Items do not run at login, certain preferences are set aside, and damaged system files are then reset. So, once booted in to Safe Mode, see if it works. Then, wait 30 seconds, and then boot up normally, attempting another update install. For instructions, go here: How to Use sSafe Mode on your Mac - Apple Support
If No Success...
III. Reinstall the macOS:
Go Here: How to reinstall macOS from macOS Recovery - Apple Support. Important: Be certain to create a backup of your Mac prior to all of this. That way, you can have something to restore from the Mac from, should anything go wrong with the reinstall. Once reinstalled, try this once more. If that is too technical for you, then contact Apple Support.
Apple Contact Info:
Why the Wait:
Phone calls are taking a bit to go through at the moment, due to lots of calls. With the Coronavirus Pandemic, many are at home at the moment, with much time on their hands to contact Apple. So, just stay on the line, and you will get through :)
