How to track my AirPods if they're lost

How can I be able to track my AirPods if they are disconnected from my phone drive and they don't pop up in the find my iPhone app?

Click here and follow the instructions; in addition, post notices around where you lost the AirPods, and if applicable, contact the Lost & Found department of the facility where you lost them.

Aside from using Find My, there isn't a way to track them.
