Email flags on iPhone
When I flag an email and then later reopen my mail the flags go away. The email remains but the flag won’t stick. I am up to date on the iOS.

Thanks for giving that a try. Go to Settings > Mail > Accounts > [your account] > and toggle Mail syncing off. After it's off, toggle it back on. This will refresh the Mail's connection with the server and may resolve the issue.
If the problem persists, let us know, does it matter which color flag you use? Or are they all affected?

Thank you for the response. The flags remain in my emails on the server. I tried your suggestion to switch between cellular and wifi but if I close and then reopen the mail app they continue to disappear in both cases.
The problem remains after toggling the app off and on. The color of the flag doesn’t matter. I have also tried rebooting my phone but that didn’t help either.
