Battery is plugged in to power source but Mac does not acknowledge connection and warns about sleeping
Mac is plugged into power source but I get low battery warning which asks me to plug into power source

The outlet or extension cord has no power, or the charger is bad, the cable is bad, the connector is bad, or the Mac is bad. Start by swapping each of these (try a different power outlet or test the outlet with a lamp, etc), and see if it’s something other than the Mac.
