Does apple keep a copy of receipt or serial number of devices? Need my Mac book serial number and it’s not with me

You should have your purchase receipt (which includes serial number) either in your emails and/or your Apple store account under purchases.

Apple probably does have a list; however, they will not reveal a serial number without proof of purchase - which means you already have the serial number.
