Carol,
Be certain to use Safari...
I spoke too soon. Clicking on links in mail will not open Firefox if it is not already open.
If I open firefox and then click link in email it works.
So this is definitely the command to open the application which is broken.
Thanks BDAqua, it's a work around but i have too much invested in my workflow to change browser.
You would think Apple would fix this but perhaps there is no incentive for them to sort it out as it forces everyone to use Safari instead of one of their rivals.
Perhaps the competition commission should be involved?
My mistake, still happening. If Firefox browser is already open then links work.
If I click on a link in email, Firefox will not prompt my default browser (Firefox) to open.
Apple is obviously trying to cripple the competition.
Then suggest the user ( you ) open you own question and provide all the relevant details, age of computer and specific of this computer issue
In so doing - one may get more individualized Assistance.
Further - if running some Other version of macOS than High Sierra 9 which is where this posting appear ) post in the correspond Forum
EDITED
I could do that and probably will but all the answers relating to this problem (numerous threads) seem to suggest switching to a different browser. particularly Safari.
Surely this is only avoiding the problem. I do think this is a valid point and this does appear to occur with the Monterey upgrade.
Appreciate your reply P.Phillips and in no way mean to criticise your solution for those who prefer to use Safari.
My default browser is Firefox and no problems with 'proxy' as your links to threads suggest as answers. I have looked at all the solutions suggested but none of them fix the problem of using Firefox.
No problem at all if I change my browser to Safari, I just prefer to use Firefox as I have for many years now.
If I was using 'excel' for instance and I was advised to use 'numbers' instead I would be equally reluctant.
I ran into the same issue after upgrading to Monterey -which is why I'm here.
Some of you may have discovered this already, but.....I switched my default browser to Safari (from Chrome) per the workaround on this thread. I closed out apple mail and opened the Outlook app to see if I was getting the same issue. I wasn't. I went back and changed my default browser back to Chrome....reopened apple mail, and now everything works just fine. weird...but my links in apple mail now open in Chrome and haven't seen the 10673 error since.
The application can’t be opened.
error 10673
Thank you I changed browser and the error disappeared
Good work, great news, take care my friend. :)
