How to delete synced photos from my iPhone 12 Pro Max?

Hey!

I synced an album of around 2,000 photos from my MacBook Air M1 to my iPhone 12 Pro Max. The problem I am facing right now is that neither I'm able to delete the photos from my iPhone (because the delete option is disabled) nor I'm able to un-sync them using my same MacBook. I've tried a lot but they just won't go away from my phone. Can anyone please help me?

I've another question as well: Can I sync more than one folder/album to my iPhone from my MacBook? As far as I think, I'm able to sync just one folder/album at one time. Please help me with that too.

Thanks!

Hi there IbadSamejo101,

We understand you're asking how to delete photos that you've synced from your computer to your iPhone, and you're asking how to sync multiple folders at once. We're glad you've joined us here in Apple Support Communities, and we can help.

"If you add photos to your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch by connecting your device to your computer, you can't delete them directly from your device in the Photos app. If you see the gray Trash button when you try to delete a photo from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, you might need to stop syncing photos from your computer." Have a look at the 'Delete photos or videos' section here to learn more:

Delete photos on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

Keeping that in mind, you can stop syncing with the steps in the 'Turn off Finder syncing' section of this support article:

Sync your photos manually using the Finder

"Choose between syncing all your photos and albums or only selected albums. You can also choose to sync only favorites, and whether to include videos" To address your question about only syncing specific albums, have a look at the 'Turn on Finder syncing' section of the link above.

Don't hesitate to let us know if you have any more questions.

Take care!
