Hey there, and welcome to Apple Support Communities G-Durm,

From our understanding, you are unable to add a credit card to your Apple Pay via Mac. We can certainly understand your concern and see you came to us from the article If Apple Pay on your Mac is turned off because security settings were modified.

We would like to ask you a couple of questions in order to get a better understanding. First, what exact version of macOS are you currently using? We ask as the menus and options can change slightly between versions of the OS, and we want to make sure we provide the most accurate steps. You can locate this by going to Apple menu  > About This Mac. Also, while you gather that information, we recommend checking out this link for detail information on how to add and remove payment cards on your Mac and see if your steps matches up: Change or remove the payment cards that you use with Apple Pay - Apple Support

We thank you for your answers, they will help guide us to the next troubleshooting step.

Kindest regards!

Hi G-Durm,

We appreciate your time and patience working with us on this matter. We recommend checking out this link for more detail information how to change your security settings on a Mac and see if everything matches up on your side: Change security settings on the startup disk of a Mac with Apple silicon - Apple Support

If this doesn't help, then the next best step will be to contact Apple directly regarding this issue.

R_Gabriel,

You directed G-Durm to a link that does not apply to his 2018 MacBook Pro with the T2 chip, but rather one with Apple Silicon.

In other words, you can't change the security settings for Apple Silicon on an T2, they are not the same.

I know as I have the same exact issue and have attempted the same previous trouble shooting steps as G-Durm on my 2018 MacBook Pro 15' 2018 with Monterey 12.2

Cheers.
