Unknown health emergency contact

I was checking the settings for the Health app because it has been accessing my contacts every day or so. (Probably a different issue than this.)

Anyway, I noticed that the emergency contact for my Mom was somebody I’ve never heard of with a phone number I’ve never called. Any ideas how that information got in there?

My partner checked her emergency contact and found odd selections, like a friend listed as her son and a distant cousin listed as her mom. At least the people listed in hers are also in her contacts.

Is there hacking going on?

Hi, Oh10guy.

We may be able to offer some assistance.

We understand that you’re reviewing your Medical ID in the Health app on your iPhone as outlined in the article that we have listed below, and you’re curious about the unknown selections for Emergency Contacts:

You mentioned your mom and partner. Are they viewing the Emergency Contacts on their own respective devices? If they are, do they have any other third-party sources connected to the Health app?
