Share in what context?
Files and data can be easily transferred or exchanged between iPad/iPhone and almost any other computer (including Android devices) by using a Cloud storage service - such Google Drive, Dropbox, Microsoft OneDrive etc - or by using USB storage devices. Some third-party Apps (e.g., File Browser Professional by Stratosherix) add additional methods such as FTP and WebDAV servers.
Apple proprietary services - such as Screen Mirroring, AirDrop and AirPlay - can only be used with Apple devices, or where supported by some third-party devices that have explicit support for these features.

Not in a straight up share. You can’t share things between iPad and Android. What you can do though is if you have files that you want to “share” you can place them in an app like Google Drive, or One Drive or things like that. That being said, this feature didn’t really start on the iPad till a few versions of iOS and if you have an iPad Air 1 then you aren’t going to be able to update your iOS on that device to a version new enough to support the feature of the cloud drives and you won’t be able to share anything with Android devices.
