Battery health & performance

Hi,

I have iphone SE purchased 10 months before, I checked battery health which is now 88% only. After 5 months of purchase it was 92% and then now it is 88%. Is that this battery is not capable for IOS update 15.2.1. I am worried about the battery, any recommendations???

It is normal that your battery degrades with use. Apple can replace your battery if you want to do so. iPhone Battery Replacement – Official Apple Support (UK)

There is some best practice to prolong it’s lifespan however:

  • Keep your iPhone between 20 and 80%, especially not letting it drop below 20 (I use an automation in the shortcuts app that automatically enables low power mode at 30%, pre emptively).
  • Ensure optimised battery charging is enabled.
