How you uninstall or remove an app on macOS depends on how that app was installed in the first place.
If you downloaded the app from the App Store, I believe you just need to delete the app like you would any other file/folder.
If you downloaded the app from the developer's website and you dragged & dropped the app onto the Applications folder, then you just delete the app like any other file/folder.
If, however, you downloaded the app from the developer's website and you had to run the installer app to install the app to macOS, then you will need to run the uninstaller app provided by the app's developer to remove everything the original installer app put onto your Mac since these types of apps usually install drivers into the system area of macOS and will have an impact on macOS if they are not properly removed as well. Sometimes the uninstaller is already on the Mac in the Applications folder, while other times the uninstaller can be found within the app bundle of the app you want to remove, and in other cases you may need to download an uninstaller app from the app's developer or follow the manual instructions the app developer provides. Sometimes you need to run the installer app again since it may also contain an option to uninstall & remove the app.
As for any remaining files (usually just app preference files), it is best to just leave them alone as they are small insignificant files which take up very little room. If you know what you are doing, then you can go into the hidden Library folder for your home user folder to manually remove any remaining preference files associated with the app.
Do not use any generic third party cleaning app as they are not needed on a Mac. They usually cause more problems than they solve plus they impact system performance.

It should only leave behind some app preference files which should not take up any significant storage and should not interfere with macOS in any way. You can manually search for those app specific preference files which are located within the hidden Library folder within your home user folder. Depending on the app, the files could be located in several different folders within the hidden Library folder of your home user folder. You can contact the app developer for details on where the specific files are located so you can remove them or see whether the developer has a utility to remove those extra files.
It is best to avoid any third party generalized file/system cleaning apps since they usually cause more problems than they solve. Plus there is no guarantee they will delete all of the app's extra files, and there is no guarantee the cleaner won't accidentally delete a file associated with another app. Personally I will trust myself to manually delete the files or just leave them on the computer than trust a cleaning app, but it is your computer to do as you please if you want to assume the risk. I have no recommendations except to avoid CleanMyMac as that app is notorious on these forums for causing all sorts of problems.
If you are concerned about the residual preference files the apps leave behind, then it is best to minimize the number of third party apps you install.
Deleting Apps this way even from the App Store leaves unnecessary files behind. I am wanting to delete them as well. That was why I was hoping to be able to uninstall them.
