Does MacBook Pro with M1 have 10bit VGA output?

Hello,

I'd like to know id new MackBook Pro with M1 have 10bit VGA output and if so by which connection type HDMI, USB-C DisplayPort or USB-C Thunderbolt?

I want to be sure that I can use my current BenQ SW270C to its full feature.

Many thanks,

A-

MacBook Pro (2020 and later)

MacBook Pro 15-in from about 2018 and 13-in and all others from about 2020 all support billions of colors Wide color (P3) color.

all ThunderBolt ports support the same resolutions over ThunderBolt or DisplayPort.

If you convert to HDMI, the bandwidth available drops off dramatically, and special cables are required.

Your terminology is a little confused. VGA is an Analog interface that your BenQ display does NOT support.

Resolution (max.)2560x1440

HDMI (v2.0) - 2

DisplayPort (v1.4) - 1

USB C(PowerDelivery 60W, DisplayPort Alt Mode, Data)

You have two direct ways and an additional one with an adapter. All support Hi-Dynamic range AKA 10 bit color.

Ciao,

sorry bad habit using VGA :)

I'm using already the monitor with Windows using DP and of course works in 10bit mode. What I can get from Apple site if M1 PRO/MAX GPU has 10bit output (I guess so :-)... but... better to check); moreover I'd like to be sure that this is supported within all MacBook Pro output ports/mode (Thunderbolt, HDMI, DP).
