I have Mid 2010 21.5 iMac can it be refurbished and upgraded or purchase same. How do I upgrade etc. etc. or must I purchase something new. Its been with me a long time and I hate to part with it. I bought my first computer in 1982 and this is my 3rd computer I am 82 years old and at my age its hard to relearn but I still work and need this baby. Help

I would start by adding memory….

Default was 4 gigabytes, two 2 gigabyte chips….

If you have an i3 processor, you can add two 4 gigabyte chips, resulting in 12 total.

Maximum is 16, four 4 gigabyte chops…

However, if you have an i5 or i7 processor, you can add two 8 gigabyte chips, resulting in 20 total…

Maximum is 32, but that is hard to reach, a very specific set of chips must be used…

I am writing this on a 2011 iMac with 20….

Look on Other World Computing for memory chips….
