Did you charge as described on the support page? To a computer USB port or to an Apple USB power adapter. Charge your Siri Remote - Apple Support
There are no indicators on the remote to show it is charging. You will need to read the charge level on the Apple TV: Settings﹥Remotes and Devices﹥Remote﹥.
