Text comes from contact with multiple numbers: Which number sent the text?

How do I find out which number sent me a text message?

this was a previous question. But I thought would contain the answer. But the solution was to come up with in the text, top up at the top right on info, eventually getting back to the contact record, and the answer would be “the number highlighted with blue“.

But… That’s not true.

When I do this procedure, and get back to the contact record, “all” the numbers are blue. None of the numbers are distinguished in any way showing the text came from “that” particular number...

I have seen contact records that have one of the numbers with a highlight saying “this number recently used“.

But, I can’t even find that from a text I received.

so… Can you tell me how to determine the number I text last text from? Whether in my contacts or not.

And the answer canNOT be, that the number will be “in blue” or highlighted by “recently used“.
