I got a returns kit for my iPhone Do I just return it through my local post office or does it have to be returned through UPS

What does it say on the return label? That should be somewhere on the label.
There are FedEx and UPS drop off locations if you're in the United States. Mostly FedEx Office (Kinkos) or UPS Store locations. There are others including drop-off boxes but you might want to hand it over physically and get a receipt.
