After i upgraded the OS from 14.2 to 15+ casting to my Chromecast stopped working.
i know it is not my Chromecast because i have 2 tablets . The one without upgrade works fine.
ipad is 6th generation.

Even if the iOS update broke it (I’m not sure why Apple would randomly choose now / somehow inadvertently do it based on the patch notes for recent iOS updates - About the security content of iOS 15.2.1 and iPadOS 15.2.1 - Apple Support), it would be down to Google to work with Apple to fix it if they thought that Apple was the problem.

Chromecast is a closed source technology from Google, that’s only supported in apps that specifically support it, and it has nothing to do with Apple.
Do you mind going to Settings > Privacy > Local Network, and ensuring that the apps in question are toggled on.

The problem is consistent with all apps that have the cast feature button.
Who implemented and is responsible for the cast button feature/api Apple or some other vendor?
Must be a lower level OS function that is called which probably changed with the last OS upgrade and this 3rd party isn't using it correctly in the cast button logic.

The actual upgrade that broke it took place sometime around the 14.6/7 upgrade. I was hoping it would get fixed by 15+.
Google needs to fix it . I doubt Apple is going to revert, they probably saw it as security issue or something.
