Is it risky to connect a brand new apple product such as iPhone to a solar power bank via any new USBC to USB adapters - the powerbank is not an apple product?

For your iPhone you would need a cable that is USB to Lighting so it can connect to the solar power bank and the iPhone, assuming the solar bank has USB ports.
The iPhone itself does not use USB-C, but does include a Lightning to USB-C cable.

Not sure I understand the Voltage stuff but I can get help with that,
was mostly worried about damaging the iPhone … so it seems that damage is caused by surges which make sense
so — I’d need to get a cable that’s USBC to USB ? Is that right?
