The warning I got when I upgraded does not state WHAT the legacy software is. How can I deal with it if I don't know?

It's a kernel extension you installed. The software that installed it might not have told you it was going to modify the system, but it did. Look in /Library/Extensions.
The HighPoint and SoftRAID drivers are installed with the OS. Anything else is likely the problem.
