I have a late 2015 iMac with two Thunderbolt 2 ports on the back and I'd like to connect a Thunderbolt 3 dock. So far, I've discovered no adapter available that can help. Anybody have a source? Just to be clear, the adapter is what needs to be TB2 male on one end and TB3 female on the other. Thanks.

I'm confused. Please describe the adapter you're suggesting between the TB2 cable and the dock. You're correct with what you said about the device. Its TB3 port is female and the TB2 port on the computer is also female.

You could just use a Thunderbolt 2 to Thunderbolt 2 cable in addition to the adapter… Mac > TB2 Cable > Adapter > Dock
It would still require the same adapter no matter where in was in the connection, right? My plan is to go Mac>Adapter> TB3 Cable>Dock.
Macsales.com does not sell that adapter.
Most docks have a female Thunderbolt port, not an integrated cable. So you wouldn’t need this hard to find adapter.

I fully understand. You use the Thunderbolt 2 cable I linked to connect your Mac to the adapter, then the adapter to the dock.

Please contact Macsales.com, if an adapter is available then they have it. If they don't there is an excellent chance they have another solution that will work. BTW, if you cannot find it yourself you can call or do a chat.
