Can one key of an M1 Mac Air be replaced or do you need to replace the whole keyboard?

Apple basically doesn't do actual repairs, they do replacements. In your case, the entire keyboard is the replaceable part. That's their corporate policy and strategy.

Or you could spend $15. and get the three-piece M1 key/cap set & replace that one key.

All the information is spelled out. Or there's a fair chance; an AASP (authorized Apple

independent service provider) can perform this task; & perhaps not spoil the warranty.
