Problem with two factor authentification

Signing in to my iCloud account with two factor authentification, I get the window informing me of the attempt to log in, I authorize that, I receive a code, but then no digit window in which to enter the code, either on my MacBook Pro or my iPhone. Result : identity can't be verified and I can't access my account.

This is a recent situation.

I've tried changing the password, but that didn't solve the issue.

Is there any way I can alter things?

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 10.13

  1. This probably isn't it, but I find that quite often the panel with the code opens over the entry panel so you have to move it.
  2. You are using 10.13 which I would have thought should work where older systems don't, but if you don't have a place to enter the code try entering it directly after the password, e.g. password123456
