Hi,
The System Requirements for the HP 5.1.1 Printer Software Update at https://support.apple.com/kb/DL1888?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US say that it is Not compatible with macOS v12 and newer. However, a report (https://discussions.apple.com/thread/253578097?answerId=256706259022#256706259022) about another printer model indicates that the download can be used with macOS 12.1 anyway. So, since an HP Officejet J4500 Series version 4.0.8 driver is mentioned in the no longer updated article Printer and scanner drivers for Mac - Apple Support, you could perhaps try the download with your printer as well. It may or may not work. Look upon this as an experiment. Make sure that you have backup copies of all important files before testing anything.
