iPhone XR problem

My iPhone XR (with iOS 14.6) started to have what I believe is a battery or charging-related issue four days ago. I came home from work and plugged it to a lightning cable made by Belkin to charge it but instead of charging the device began to show me notifications of “Unlock iPhone to use accessories” and “unable to activate Face ID on this device” both appearing at the same time. It is also overheating when charging and the only way it charges is when the device is off but when I use the device the charge drains really quick (battery health is at 82%).

Any idea what this problem could be? I would upgrade but spending money on a new iPhone is not one of my priorities at the moment.

Hello,

See these steps:

1) Check the charging port for lint or other debris

2) See this: If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch won‘t charge

3) Accessories: Identify counterfeit or uncertified Lightning connector accessories

4) See this: If you see an ‘Accessory may not be supported’ alert

5) However, the real problem is that you probably need a new battery:

iPhone Battery & Power Repair

Good luck.
