How to connect my Apple Watch to my new iPhone?

Hi, I have an Apple Watch which was connected to my phone. I reset my phone to factory settings and sold the phone. I now have a new phone and my watch will not connect to it. Could you please advise me on how to connect my Watch to my new phone?
