GarageBand fail after upgrade to Monterey

Hi folks,

perhaps someone knows the solution for this:

I just replaced a 2012 iMac with an M1 Mac Mini. Now I have a bizarre problem with GarageBand.

When I start the software, I get this error:

Odd. Not sure what driver that would be?

If I look in the preferences under "Audio/MIDI", it shows that it is using the standard output and my Scarlett2i4 for input. However, I can't change these settings, they are grayed out.

When I choose, for example, a new audio project to record from the microphone, I get this error:

Um???

Does anyone have an idea what I need to do to fix this?

Should I reinstall GarageBand?

Thank you!

Mac mini, macOS 12.1
