How can I stop this Mcaffee pop up from appearing every few seconds? I don't have mcafee and find no malicious apps when checking in finder. I already deleted the .plsts thinking this would fix the issue. It only pops up in Safari

Hi saregare,

We understand you're seeing a popup for software you don't have installed on the computer. We're happy to offer some guidance.

If you're just seeing it in Safari, it's most likely some sort of scam/phishing popup. You can try clearing the Safari history to see if that gets rid of it: Clear your browsing history in Safari on Mac

If it's still appearing, it's also a good idea to scan the computer to see if any adware or malware is currently installed on it. Malwarebytes is the system scanning software recommended by Apple to check for adware/malware. You can download that here: Malwarebytes Just select the Free Download button at the top right of the page.

Install that and then do a scan. If any adware/malware is found on the computer, select the option to remove it then restart the computer. After restarting the computer do another scan to make sure everything was removed, then test Safari to see if you're still getting this popup.

Hope this helps. Cheers!
