I am an adult and would like to restrict access to YouTube on my own iPad mini gen 5 as I am wasting too much time there. I listed YouTube as restricted site under the screen time tab under settings and then tested it out but YouTube came up with no problem. Did I miss a step? I can see YouTube listed under Never Allow but it is not being blocked. Thanks.

You can restrict access to both the YouTube app and the YouTube website as follows:
YouTube app: Settings > Screen Time > Content & Privacy Restrictions > Content Restrictions > Apps and set to 12+
YouTube website: Settings > Screen Time > Content & Privacy Restrictions > Content Restrictions > Web Content > Limit Adult Websites > Never Allow and add the full YouTube Website address https://www.youtube.com
The good thing is you can remove the restrictions at anytime as YouTube has a lot of helpful Tips and Tricks you can use with your iPad Mini 5.

So sorry, as this is what my iPad shows after I have done the 2nd option in both Safari and Microsoft Edge.
I will continue to look at what might be causing yours not to work and any other options. Hopefully others might provide additional support.
Thanks for responding so quickly.. Your second option above is exactly what I did so cannot figure out why it is not working. Could there be something else overriding it? I don’t want to do your first option as that choice restricts all apps age 12 and over which I don’t want to do. Thanks again.
I finally figured it out. I still had the YouTube app on the iPad. I thought I had deleted it a long time ago. Once I deleted it, I got the “restricted website” message you posted above when I googled YouTube and clicked on the website. Thanks so much for your help.
