iTunes/Windows not recognising iPhone?

When I installed iTunes, I plugged in my iPhone 4s (spare phone) and it wouldn't recognise it. I went into device manager and it wouldn't find the Apple Mobile Device Support driver, but Control Panel would. I have no idea what's going on. Can you help?
