air drop

I have an IPhone 12 Pro and a recently purchased an new IPad Pro to replace a 5 year old IPad Pro…..I can air drop from my IPad to my IPhone, but cannot air drop from my IPhone to my IPad. I looked to see in “find my Ipad” on my Iphone if it was locating my old Ipad, but it only sees my current Ipad. I have looked in the help on safari. I do not know enough about this, but I does not make sense to me that I can air drop from Ipad to Iphone, but not the reverse.

I have checked the contacts and all the other things Apple support suggests…….Stumped

iPad Pro, iPadOS 15

If the new iPad and the iPhone are not using the same Apple ID, then open the Control Center on the iPhone by swiping down from the top right corner of the screen, then tap and hold for a second on the connections group to expand it. Tap on Airdrop, and make sure its set to Everyone instead of Contacts only.
